Prevention Alliance of Tennessee's
Substance Misuse Prevention
Day on the Hill
February 12, 2020
Mark your calendars for our 2020 Prevention Day on the Hill! Since 2016, the Prevention Alliance and Tennessee Prevention Coalition Network have been convening at our State Capitol to showcase the successful work we have done in reducing substance misuse in our communities. Make plans to join us this year on February 12, 2020, to meet legislators and educate them on the importance of prevention.
This year we are doing things a little differently and combining youth and adult Day on the Hill into one advocacy-packed day. We will also send out all materials electronically so you can create packets ahead of your scheduled meetings with legislators. Our agenda is formatted so that participants may come and go from their scheduled legislator appointments.
8:30 - 9:30 Registration and Networking in the House Chamber
9:30 Governor Bill Lee will swing by the House Chamber - Take this opportunity to say hello and snap a photo with the Governor!
10:30 - 11:30 Youth Mock Trial in the House Chamber - All youth are invited to participate, and everyone else is welcome to stay for the mock entertainment.
12:00 - 2:00 Bring your lunch and network with fellow prevention professionals in the Legislative Lounge. Come and go from legislator meetings as your schedule allows.
We hope you will be able to join us for this 2020 Day on the Hill!
White Papers & Summaries
The PAT Advocacy Committee selects advocacy priorities yearly. These priorities are based on a survey of coalition membership so we can address issues relevant to our Tennessee communities. Once priorities are selected, the committee conducts research, creates educational resources such as white papers and summaries.
